Guy and Nancy Carusone Wedding

Our Engagement

We were formally engaged on December 7, 1998
at The Country Club Christmas Party which
was held at Country 2000 in Dallas, Texas.
Guy took Nancy out to the middle of the dance
floor and got down on his knees and took
Nancy's hand in his and in front of the whole
Club asked her to be his wife.  Guy chose
the song "Goodnight Sweetheart" to dance
to afterwards.  The rest is history
as these pages show.

About the Bride and Groom

Guy works as the Aerospace Service Manager  for major aerospace firm in Dallas, Texas.  He moved to the Dallas area from Albuquerque, NM where he
was in the New Mexico Air National Guard and previously with the Air Force.  He is retired from the military after serving 22 years.  Nancy works as
a Legal Assistant for a Law Firm in North Dallas.

Wedding Attire

A western-style wedding was planned and held.  The bride's dress was a fully lined ivory, lace "Damsel" style dress with a button front, adjustable lace-up
back.  A western ivory Cattleman's style hat with sequins, pearls and lace was worn by the bride as well as ivory leather and lace western heeled boots to match
the outfit.  The maid-of-honor's dress was a sky blue, two piece western skirt and peblum blouse by Miller Outpost.  The daughter of the bride, acting as
flower girl, wore a beautiful lace chambray blue western dress from Old West Mercantile and Trade; a headband of ivory, pink and blue silk flowers created
by the bride and carried a basket with pink silk roses also created by the bride.  The flower girl and maid-of-honor also wore black western boots as part of their
attire in keeping with the theme style.  The bride also created the bouquet of silk pink roses carried by her maid-of-honor and the throw-away bouquet for the bouquet tossing at the reception.  The groom, best man and ring bearer, son of the bride, all wore western-style "Silverado" black tuxedo jackets, crisp new black jeans, bollo ties, black western boots and black Stetson style hats. The bride embellished the Unity Candle with a western motif, as well as the
signature pen, ring bearer's pillow, bride and groom champagne glasses.

Our Reception

Our reception was held in the New Memories Reception Hall right next door to Historic Round Grove Church in Lewisville, Texas immediately following the wedding ceremony.  Historic Round Grove Church was founded by German immigrants on January 6, 1901  with services being originally held in German and eventually by 1926 the services were  also held in English.  The church has been closed to regular services for years now and  is used and preserved for use as a wedding site along with the reception hall.  A wonderful group of people run this service in the community at a very reasonable price and make the memories you have here very special.  Due to friends and family we were able to have a reception where we could really celebrate our special day.  Friends played music for us to dance a few hours away before we went on to celebrate further at a private party at Country 2000  in Dallas, Texas in their small VIP section.

Wedding Party

Our wedding party was and is very special to us.  Our maid-of-honor was my friend Betsy Wooderson (now Wright), whom I cherish and who is very special to me.  She is also my daughter's godmother.  My daughter, Miranda Barnes, was my flower girl and she was so excited to be a part of the wedding with her blond hair curled, carrying flowers and wearing a western-style dress.  My son, Adam Barnes, was the ring bearer and took his position very seriously and looked so grown-up in his western -style tuxedo, boots and hat.

Jeff Sandlin was the best man and came all the way from Albuquerque, NM to be a part of the wedding and made our day very special with all the help he gave us during the wedding, reception and after the celebrating was all done.

Honeymoon

Due to the generosity of family, friends and co-workers we were able to have a wonderful time in San Antonio, Texas on the Riverwalk.  Our hotel, Holiday Inn Riverwalk, overlooked the Riverwalk in one of the quieter sections but it was quite beautiful.  We went on a 45 minute Yanaguana RiverCruises tour and received the history of the Riverwalk and San Antonio.  An unusual site to see was a pink flowering tree called a Hong Kong Orchid.  We managed to see some traditional Mexican dancers performing at one of the outdoor theaters.  We toured the city of San Antonio
by exploring the Alamo, The Buckhorn Saloon and enjoyed great food at some wonderful restaurants and checked out some great shops.  We also made sure that we took a trip in our car to the San Antonio Missions and and managed to visit all of them and to take some great pictures.

We continued our honeymoon by driving to Albuquerque, New Mexico to spend time with Guy's parents and other family members.  We got to go to Kirtland Air Force Base and visit friends and co-workers of Guy's at the New Mexico Air National Guard and was able to visit the Guardsmen's Club and explore other areas and sites around Albuquerque.  We had a wonderful time.

Special Thanks
